Two floors, one warm welcome

Since 2012, The Barony has been part of life on Biggar’s High Street. Downstairs is the restaurant: easy lunches, long Sunday tables and dinners that run a little later than planned, with a menu that changes every month and everything made in our own kitchen.

Upstairs is our private dining room and bar for up to 40 guests, kept for the birthdays, weddings and gatherings that deserve a room of their own.

Your occasion, our whole house

Upstairs, our private dining room seats up to 40 and is yours for the day or evening. For bigger celebrations we close the entire restaurant and shape it around you.

Our events team looks after everything, from styling and décor to the menu and running the day itself, so all you have to do is arrive.

First to know, first to book

Join our guest list for first access to our busiest dates, from Christmas to Mother’s Day, and new menus before anyone else.

Good to know

Before you visit

Do you need a deposit to book?

Only for larger tables. Parties of 8 or more pay a £10 per person deposit when booking, online or by phone. Smaller tables pay nothing to book.

Is there a children’s menu?

Yes, we have a children’s menu at lunch and dinner. Just ask when you arrive.

Are dogs welcome?

Yes. We welcome one well behaved dog per booking, though we’re unable to host two or more dogs from the same household. Our outdoor terrace is dog friendly too.

Is The Barony accessible?

Our restaurant on the lower level has just one small step and is otherwise completely flat, toilets included. The private dining room on the upper level is reached by a flight of stairs and has no step-free access, so please mention any access needs when you plan an event with us.

Can you cater for allergies?

Yes. Please tell us when you book and let your server know on the day, and our kitchen will guide you through the menu.

Is there parking?

There is free on-street parking along the High Street, a short walk from our door.
